ไม้ล้มลุก มีเหง้าใต้ดิน ลำต้นเหนือดินสูง 40-60 ซม. ใบเดี่ยว เรียงสลับ รูปรี กว้าง 8-15 ซม. ยาว 18-30 ซม. ช่อดอกเกิดกลาง กลุ่มใบ ยาว 8-20 ซม. ใบประดับสีส้มแดง รูปใบหอก กลีบดอกสีแดง เกสรเพศผู้ที่เป็นหมันคล้ายกลีบดอกและกลีบปากสีเหลืองส้มครึ่งล่างสีแดง ออกดอกเดือน มิ.ย.-ส.ค.
Rhizomatous herbs 40-60 cm tall. Leaves simple, alternate, elliptic, 18-30 by 8-15 cm. Inflorescences terminal on pseudostems, 8-20 cm long; bracts orangish red, lanceolate. Corolla lobes red; staminodes and labellum orangish yellow with red in lower half. Flowering Jun.-Aug.
