ไม้ล้มลุกอายุปีเดียว ทุกส่วนมีรสขมมาก ใบเดี่ยว เรียงตรงข้าม รูปใบหอก ดอกออกเป็นช่อจากซอกใบหรือปลายยอด ดอกสีขาวมีลาย สีม่วง ผลรูปรี แห้งแล้วแตกออก มีเมล็ดสีนํ้าตาลจำนวนมาก ออกดอก ช่วงเดือนตุลาคม – ธันวาคม ขยายพันธุ์โดยการเพาะเมล็ด

Characteristics :

Andrographis paniculata is an annual herb, which are extremely bitter taste in the all parts, 30 – 70 cm tall. Leaves are simple, opposite, lanceolate shaped. Inflorescences are in terminal or axillary panicles. Flowers are white with purplish striped. Fruits are short cylindrical capsule with many yellowbrown seeds. Flowering in October – December. This plant can be propagated by seed.
