ไม้พุ่มกึ่งเลื้อย ใบเดี่ยว เรียงสลับ รูปไข่ ดอกออกเป็นช่อจาก ซอกใบ ดอกย่อยขนาดเล็ก สีขาวอมเขียว ผลรูปทรงกลม ผลอ่อนสีเขียว ผลแก่สีนํ้าตาล เมื่อแห้งแล้วแตก มี ๓ เมล็ด ออกดอกช่วงเดือน มิถุนายน – พฤศจิกายน สามารถขยายพันธุ์โดยการเพาะเมล็ด

Characteristics :

Colubrina asiatica is a scandent shrub. Leaves simple, alternate, leaf blade ovate. Inflorescences in axillary cluslers, with a small white flowers. Fruits are globose, green and fleshy at first and turning brown when dried, with 3 seeds. Flowering in June – September. This plant can be propagated from seed.

ใบนำมารับประทานเป็นผักสด ลวกจิ้มนํ้าพริก หรือใส่ในแกงกะทิ และยังมีสรรพคุณเป็นสมุนไพรพื้นบ้าน

Young leaves are eaten fresh or fast-boiled with chilli sauces and cooked foods. It can also be used as a traditional medicine.
