ลักษณะ :

ไม้พุ่มอิงอาศัย สูงประมาณ 1 เมตร รากสะสมอาหาร อวบบวม ใบ เดี่ยว เรียงเวียนรอบกิ่ง รูปรีแกมขอบขนานหรือรูปรี แคบ กว้าง 3-4.5 ซม. ยาว 9.5-15 ซม. ปลายแหลม โคนใบรูปลิ่ม ผิวใบเกลี้ยง เส้นใบ 11-14 คู่ ดอก สีแดงสด ออกเป็นช่อตามกิ่ง ก้านดอกย่อยเรียว ยาว 2-2.5 ซม. กลีบรองดอก 5 กลีบ รูปถ้วยแคบ กลีบดอกเป็นหลอดป่อง มีสันตามยาว ผิวมันเกลี้ยง ปลายแยกเป็น 5 แฉก แหลมโค้ง ผล รูปค่อนข้างกลม ขนาดกว้าง 6-7 มม. ผิวเกลี้ยง

Characteristics :

Epiphytic shrub, with swollen base. ca. 1 m high. Leaves simple, spirally arranged, elliptic-oblong to narrowly elliptic, 9.5-15 cm long, 3-4.5 cm wide, glabrous on both surfaces; base cuneate; apex acute; secondary veins 11-14 pairs. Inflorescence axillary panicle. Flowers bright red; calyx 5, tube narrow cup shape; corolla 5, united into cylindrical tube, with ridges along the tube, shiny, lobes recurved outward. Fruit berry, subglobose, 6-7 mm in diameter, glabrous.

นิเวศวิทยา อินเดียถึงเอเชียตะวันออก เฉียงใต้ ประเทศไทยพบเกาะอาศัยตามต้นไม้ใหญ่ ในป่าดิบเขาทาง ภาคเหนือ ภาคตะวันตกและภาคตะวันตกเฉียงใต้ ที่ระดับความสูง 1,100-1,600 เมตร ออกดอกช่วงเดือนธันวาคม-มีนาคม

Distribution :

India to Southeast Asia, In Thailand, found in hill evergreen forests in the northern, western and southwestern regions at elevations of 1,100-1,600 m. Flowering from December to March.
