Chloranthus elatior is a small shrub up to 1.5 m tall.
Stem terete, glabrous. Leaves are simple, opposite, broadly
elliptic, margin serrate and its contain an essential oil.
Inflorescences in terminal spikes with small white flowers.
Fruits obovoid, green when young, white at maturity.
Flowering in April – August. This plant is commonly grown
from stem cutting.
