Terrestrial fern with erect to ascending rhizome and wiry prop roots. Rhizome loosely attached to soil. Stipe and rachis reddish brown above and beneath, stipe densely scaly in lower third, stipe grooved above except at apex, fertile frond only grooved only grooved at base. Fronds dimorphic; fertile pinnae more erect, to 102 cm long, stipe to 71 cm long; sterile fronds to 77 cm long, stipe to 47 cm long. Bulbils usually usually present at second pinna junction, sometimes higher to last pair of free pinnae. Sterile lamina mid green above and beneath; fertile lamina olive-green. Sori indusia, these not seen on mature fronds. |
