Stem long creeping, flowering shoots usually 6-12 inc. tall. Leaves variable in size, from less than 1 inc. to about 6 inc. long pointed, base rounded and very shortly stalked, sheaths usually reddish. Inflorescence of 2 spiked closely pressed together, rising from a sheath pale green, the lower empty glume smooth, with green veins at its tip and thin wings on the margins towards the tip. |
