 Terrestrial fern with short creeping rhizome. Stipe and rachis brown on both surface; costag brown beneath, lamina paler beneath; young stipe, rachis and crozier green; stipes brittle. Fronds stiff, to 105 cm long, lamina to 47 x 28 cm. Lamina mid to dark green above, spines brown, lamina paler beneath.
